We selected the 9-hour Northwest Fjord tour to give use more time on the water for wildlife very and we were not disappointed. This was one of the top activities we did during our almost two week road trip of Alaska. The day was perfect, the captain and crew outstanding and the wildlife incredible. Sea otters, humpback whales (so many we had to simply pass some by), fin whales, puffins, sea lions, seals, eagle, orcas (3 pods coming together) and a lot of other birds. From talking with the crew I discovered one advantage of the longer tour is that the boat is much less crowded. We were about half full as compared to other boats on the water with shorter tours. That meant it was much easier to move about the boat and everyone was more accommodating to taking turns viewing and getting photos to the wildlife. One of our vacation highlights and a highly recommended activity for everyone.

It was worth my 2,500 mile drive to Alaska just for this boat tour. The scenery - particularly the glacial areas - were stunning, and captain Mike and his crew were all fantastic and very knowledgeable. However, the real highlight of the trip was the wildlife - we saw 11 Humpback Whales (1 of which was continually breaching high into the air), 2 Fin Whales and a whole host of puffins, otters, seals and sea lions. This is something that I will remember for the rest of my life.

Wonderful tour with lots of wildlife sightings. We enjoyed many whale sightings including an Orca Pod. It is important to dress for wet weather. Also, some passengers experienced sea sickness in rougher waters but the staff was well equipped and ready to care for them. Food was excellent. Our stop at the waterfall was exciting as well!
