The tour missed too much. I would preferred to visit places such as Coney Island and Bensonhurst rather than the run down, litter infested area of Brooklyn that we actually stopped in for our lunch break. In fact, even the place that was recommended for lunch looked closed from a distance. The last stop on the tour, DUMBO, was very nice and would have been a much better option for a lunch break, having much more to do and see. When my wife mentioned this to the tour guide, he responded that the tour route did not make this practical, and that we stopped in the other section of Brooklyn because that showed a real part of Brooklyn. I have a thought, change the route. We have been on many tours, in many cities, and those other tours, with one exception that I can think of, did not highlight the more run down parts of those cities. The one exception was in San Francisco, which brought us through the Haight-Ashbury section, for obvious reasons. Finally, the bus dropped us off in Chinatown, about 4 miles away from where it picked us up. I understand that they have to return the bus to the terminal, but I am sure that most would agree that 4 mile is a little much,

Tom's personal recollections and his sense of humour (not to mention his opinions) really made the experience alive.

This was a brilliant start to our holiday in New York. Manuela was a fantastic guide, full of knowledge and made the tour so entertaining. There are numerous stops and the tour gives you a real insight to the whole of New York City, not just Manhattan. Highlights were our stop at the Apollo in Harlem, the Yankees stadium in the Bronx and our lunch stop in Bushwick where we visited a great little bar - The Artichoke. We went on the trip as one of the attractions of the Go City Explorer pass. The bus tour was by far the best value attraction on the pass for the 6 attractions we purchased. Would definitely recommend!
