This is a fun-filled interactive walking tour of Greenwich Village's Italian neighborhood. See St. Anthony's Church, Raffetto's Pasta and then stroll MacDougal Street's Caffe Reggio. This 2+hour tour is led by local, licensed NYC tour guide, Greg Marro, with Italian family roots in the neighborhood since 1884. Your food tour guide gives you an insider's perspective into local history with music, serenades and family tales.   Samples and sights subject to change.

NOTE Tours will not run if there are only 3 people or less and rescheduled based on availability. Tourists will be notified details by TripAdvisor messaging.

What To Expect

St. Anthony of Padua
St Anthony of Padua is the first church built in the Americas for Italian Catholics. We will see the church's Romanesque interior complete with magnificent marble altar and Corinthian columns.

Father Demo Square
This quaint square's vista of the church's bell tower juxtaposed with the fountain, gives tourists a look into Italian American of this neighborhood.

Our Lady of Pompeii
See this gorgeous Italianate 1892 Church, the only NYC Roman Catholic Church with weekly Sunday Mass in four languages: English, Italian, Portugese and Tagalog/Phillipino.

We were running late due to subway delays, we called Greg and let him know would be late. Immediately, he put us at ease and told us that we would be having a private tour with him and not to worry. We leisurely walked to many unique Italian eateries, feasting on Italian delicacies while touring the village. It was time well spent! The Cake Walk Tour is on my list for next year's visit! Thanks Greg for a delightful morning!

My friend and I did the Italians of Greenwich Village Food Tour. Greg knew his stuff and was great to hang with. The food was yummy. I don't know if I can pick a favorite but everything from the focaccia and prosciutto, to the meatball, and the rice ball were delicious. We actually went back to two of the places after the tour to buy some homemade pasta and cold cuts before heading home. We truly enjoyed our tour and would highly recommend.

Greg is a great tour guide. He has a wealth of knowledge which is a very important aspect of a tour. He was very funny and made us feel completely at ease. He supports local business which is great. We got bite size samplings at different local spots.
