The guide was interesting and well-prepared, and had a deep knowledge of Grand Central and communicated the magic of trains. The immensity of the terminal and its history and many functions over the 109 years of its existence--including the home of CBS television from the days of Edward R. Murrow to the late '60's-were grandly explain in this superb tour!

This was a great history lession of the Grand Central stations/terminals - the one that currently is there and the stations that came before it - and also of the New York Central railroad. It was great to learn the history of Park Avenue - how it was originally uncovered - and why the trains do not go down any further. It was also interesting to learn of the fierce competition between the New York Central and the Pennsylvania Railroad. There is a discussion on the architecture of building and how different stones were used in its construction. Also neat to learn of the multiple layers of tracks, how the station was saved from the wrecking ball and also to learn of how large the underground footprint of the station actually is. Would have been even more interesting if there were more behind the scenes places to see but that might not be allowed.

Guide should’ve been better prepared. Photographs arranged in a better fashion stop and speak to a group in a semi circle. Did not get to see anything unusual.
