- See the architectural ghosts of the nearly forgotten and partially abandoned, Chambers Street station nicknamed the “Grand Central of Downtown”
- Discover the remnants of Union Square Station as you learn about a hidden art installation thousands of riders walk by everyday
- Use the 6 train as your own time machine as you ride through abandoned subway stations that most seasoned NYC commuters don’t know exist
- Explore the birth of the NYC subway system through amazing archival photos not available to the public
- Learn about the comically short route of the mythical “Subway before the Subway,” Alfred Ely Beach’s Pneumatic Transit System

Guests will need one MetroCard swipe or OMNY tap to enter the subway.

Please note that although you will see abandoned subway stations from the train, the Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) doesn't grant public access into them under any circumstances.

Loved this tour, ventured through the history and artwork at the different stations. Had a great tour leader whom gave us great insight to the NY underground railway history and stories from the past. The highlight of course was viewing some of the abandoned stations no longer in operation.

Our tour guide was Alexis and she was so funny and knowledgable she made the experience so much fun and was able to answer all the questions our group had! We got to find out so much about the history of the subway system and even see old subway platforms. She also had print outs, maps, and pictures of old subway platforms to show to how things used to look.

Very interesting and enjoyable tour. Our guide AJ was very enthusiastic and had a wealth of knowledge about the subway system, which he conveyed with humor and illustrations (I really loved the vintage photos!). Our group was very friendly and fun to be with, which added to the overall enjoyment. I highly recommend Untapped NY and will most definitely book more tours with them.
