Great time with Andy and Sami during a whale watching tour. We saw orcas and a humpback was spotted. The orcas were being playful as there were some juveniles in the pod. There was a lot of tail flapping and a few breaches. I was able to get this on video. The weather was unpleasant, rainy and cold but we were provided with warm jackets. Truly an outstanding experience!

We took an 11am whale watching tour on a 30-person boat and had an amazing experience. Our captain, Benson, and naturalist, Sammi, weā€™re great and very knowledgeable. We were able to see a humpback, some eagles, sea lions, and a pod of transient orcas. Theyā€™re in constant communication with other boats to give you the best experience. When they heard orcas had been spotted about an hour away, Benson took us there. The water was pretty calm today which made for a smooth boat ride. It does get pretty cold, especially if you are outside when traveling to the whales location. Layers, a hat, and gloves made the ride more comfortable. You can bring your own food and drinks which was nice. Definitely worth it! Iā€™d do it again when I return in the future.

My friend and I were spending two days on Orcas and were told to go whale watching. We had an awesome time and saw two groups of transient killer whales. There are regulations so do not expect the boats to get close to the whales - it is up to the whales to get close to you! We watched the whales from afar the entire time - but they sure are gorgeous creatures. We had Sami as our naturalist and Andrew as our captain - both very knowledgeable and fun. You can bring your own food (I suggest sandwiches and bags of chips) and drinks - however, be warned that two hours of the tour is just getting over to where the whales are hanging out - and it is bumpy! We brought stuff to make mimosas but ended up not drinking them. On that note, don't expect to be seeing whales the entire 3-4 hours, you probably only spend 1 hour whale watching, but it sure is nice boating out there! Be sure to dress warm, especially if you want to sit on the top deck! I don't think this is a "must do", but I'd definitely recommend this for anyone visiting Orcas that wants to fill up their time with something fun!
