Highly Recommended! Went whale watching with the one and only Captain Paul J. Weatherford. My friend and I boarded the vessel know as Trident, with our bellies full of anticipation and excitement. We motored only about 15 minutes before we encountered our first Orca pod, and was shortly met by another pod of Orcas in the same location. Nestled between Orcas Is. and Clark Is. State Park we watched this large group of orca with an amazing view of the snow covered Mt. Baker in the distance. Our group observed orca breaching, cruising in and out of the water, swimming in pairs, approach our vessel for fantastic views, and we even saw an orca snag a sea bird out of the air! Throughout the trip Paul was professional, competent, knowledgable and friendly. He was very attentive to all questions we had, and supplied a plethora of information. Because we could have spent our whole trip watching these whales, (about 2 hours so far), he asked if we would like to see some other marine animals and habitats. We zoomed over to the north end of Sucia Island and saw Steller Sea Lions, Harbor Seals, Great Blue Heron, Eagle, Peregrine Falcon, Oyster Catcher, and much more. It was a fantastic trip and I can't wait to come back for more! This is a great trip for families, couples, friends, and solo adventures. Don't forget to tip your naturalist!!! I see that this company also does charter fishing trips, kayak excursions, Sucia Island transportation, and more!

My husband and I decided to go out on a whale watching tour at the last moment. It was a great decision! Paul, our captain, took us right to where a pod of transient whales was hanging out. While we were enjoying watching them feed and frolic, another pod showed up and gave us another show. On our way back to the marina we went to an area that sea lions are known to frequent. During the trip we were able to also see seals and several species of sea birds. It was a fabulous way to see the area and local wildlife. I highly recommend booking a trip if you go to Orcas Island. (My photos don't do the whale viewing justice)
