Overview

The Original Sea Cave Kayak Tour (90 Minutes in Length) offers unforgettable guided tours through the La Jolla Ecological Reserve. Each tour is lead by experienced guide(s) who ensure participants safely navigate through the unique ecological habitats while seeing different types of marine life.

This highly-protected and unique area boasts one of the highest concentrations of sea-life in the West Coast. Guests commonly encounter seals, sea lions, and a multitude of birds and fish, and lucky guests might even see dolphins or whales!

Towards the southern end of the Ecological Reserve, La Jolla's Seven Sea Caves patiently await, allowing participants to witness their beauty. Weather permitting, participants can kayak through the large sea cave that goes from the ocean into the Emerald Cove.
Entry into the Emerald Cave depends on the safety, and is not guaranteed. Participants must be five years or older to participate in the tour.

Valid for up to two people to ride in a double kayak.

My wife and I had an amazing time kayaking to and in the sea caves by the ecological reserve. Our guides Aiden and Savanah (spelling?) were really nice and super into the tour as were we. We learned a nice balance of history and facts about the reserve and the area with a super safe trip out and into the sea caves. Saw a bunch of sea lions up close and got to surf the kayak into shore on the way back. Highly recommend to all.

My son and I had a great time today. Both Tiffany and George were great tour guides. I love the fact that they knew the cave history, pointed out faultline. The highlight were the caves and sea lions. Again great time.

Spectacular time kayaking La Jolla Cove with our guides Nate and Tiff. Most impressive part is Nate swims and brings the entire group through the caves two kayaks (for people) at a time. Tip: bring your water bottle it’s easy to get dehydrated paddling on the water Also, you can jump out and swim in the cove while waiting to go into the caves if you like. July and August the water is warm and no wetsuit needed with temps in the 70s.
