The Tramway is subject to delays and periodic shutdowns due to unforeseen circumstances and is not responsible for ticket refunds or the inability to redeem a voucher
Tramway cars hold 80 people each and there are no seats. Passengers remain standing throughout the journey up the mountain
Distance is approximately 12,800 feet, with a vertical ascent of 5,873 feet - 15 minutes travel time one way
The tramway is known as a double reversible type of aerial tramway. Each car remains on one pair of track cables moving up and down without turning around. Each car serves as a counter balance to the other, the descending car is helping pull the ascending car up the mountain
Strollers are permitted on this tour
During holiday periods, you may experience long lines. We recommend you travel outside of these peak times to fully enjoy everything the tramway and mountain have to offer.
There is parking in 13 paved lots near Valley Station. There is free shuttle service from parking lots to Valley Station entrance available weekends and holiday periods

This is a real must do when visiting Palm Springs area, the views are spectacular and the walks around on top of the mountain are superb. The other plus is it’s much cooler than down in the desert below.

My daughter surprised me with a trip for my birthday. Parking was plentiful, slight incline to the entrance, handicap parking and shuttle is available. Ride holds about 60 people, floor rotates so you get full views on the quick ride up. Windows give a nice cool breeze. At the top: Visitor center and gift store on main floor. Plenty of balconies for viewing, including right off the restaurant which has very good food. Many trails with beautiful views. Saw several birds, squirrels and chipmunks. Weather was beautiful, a good 10-20 degrees cooler than Inland Empire, and it actually was thundering and sprinkling! Want to go back for a night time visit.

My husband and I and our two teenage boys took the tram up for a beautiful afternoon. Views are great from the station. We also took the short hike for even more breathtaking scenery. Highly recommend!
