What a great adventure. We have been coming to the Desert for 30 years and have never done the Tram. The revolving car lets everybody see the great vistas. The food venues at the top are more than adequate. The bar with the best view in the valley i reasonably priced and no rush.

We went to Palm Springs for a long weekend, arrived too early for check in so we decided to kill some time at the Tram. We really loved the 40 degrees temp difference on a hot fall day. Great restaurant up top, and a different view experience up top. We had no idea there were so many pine trees in the hidden canon up top. A must see experience.

This is without doubt a must do while in Palm Springs. It is both scary and exhilarating at the same time but so worth it to see the views from the Tram car as well as the overlooks once you are at the top. Awaiting you at the top are breathtaking sights of the valley below as well as a restaurant and bar within the mountain station. This includes several overlooks with interpretive signs outside that are on different levels. If you want to explore more of the San Jacinta State Park there are two pathway trails that will take you on short hikes around and one offers five overlooks, called notches, that provide amazing views. If you are the more adventurous type there are miles of trails that require free permits that can be acquired at the Ranger Station. Parking at the base of the Tramway was $8 per car and from there a shuttle takes you to the Valley Station where you purchase your Tram ticket.
