Tramway cars hold 80 people each and there are no seats. Passengers remain standing throughout the journey up the mountain
Distance is approximately 12,800 feet, with a vertical ascent of 5,873 feet - 15 minutes travel time one way
The tramway is known as a double reversible type of aerial tramway. Each car remains on one pair of track cables moving up and down without turning around. Each car serves as a counter balance to the other, the descending car is helping pull the ascending car up the mountain
Strollers are permitted on this tour
During holiday periods, you may experience long lines. We recommend you travel outside of these peak times to fully enjoy everything the tramway and mountain have to offer.
There is parking in 13 paved lots near Valley Station. There is free shuttle service from parking lots to Valley Station entrance available weekends and holiday periods
Hand sanitiser available to travellers and staff

Kind of a disappeared. It was our 30th wedding anniversary I called the peak restaurant to set up a picnic. I was expecting a picnic to be set up for us on this special day. Instead I was handed a plastic bag.the order was wrong and it was fifty bucks...not good!!

Our Tramway Tour was everything we expected it to be. The Viator service was easy and quick. We exited the tram and headed for the top of San Jacinto. Fascinating hike and worth it. The trail was adventurous, not your boring back and forth, working your way to the top. Picturesque all the way up. We got some beautiful photos as we ascended the mountain. Anyone who is into hiking would thoroughly enjoy this all day adventure.

This is a must do tour when in Palm Springs unless you are scared of heights! The journey up lasts approximately 15 minutes and the car rotates all the way, it was faster than we had imagined. People had told us to take coats as it is much colder at the top, but we didn't need them. You can either sit and enjoy the scenery or trek the San Jacinto State Park. We did a bit of both, but the trek back is all uphill so we didn't go too far. You can choose when to return as the cars go every 15 minutes. All in all, it was a great experience.
