Tramway cars hold 80 people each and there are no seats. Passengers remain standing throughout the journey up the mountain
Distance is approximately 12,800 feet, with a vertical ascent of 5,873 feet - 15 minutes travel time one way
The tramway is known as a double reversible type of aerial tramway. Each car remains on one pair of track cables moving up and down without turning around. Each car serves as a counter balance to the other, the descending car is helping pull the ascending car up the mountain
Strollers are permitted on this tour
During holiday periods, you may experience long lines. We recommend you travel outside of these peak times to fully enjoy everything the tramway and mountain have to offer.
There is parking in 13 paved lots near Valley Station. There is free shuttle service from parking lots to Valley Station entrance available weekends and holiday periods

The weather was perfect the day we rode to the top on the Tram.My husband and I went at the beginning of May. There was about 2 inches of snow at the top and the temperature was around 50 degrees. The sky was perfectly clear and no wind. The Tram floor rotates constantly so if you are afraid stand on the inside. The outer area is perfect for picture taking. We did not eat at the top but the food did look very appealing.

Every 20 minutes a ride takes you up the mountain. On top there are great views all around from the different decks and also from a small walk. The is a restaurant and a cafe located. Also is there possibility to walk some trails, they are doable for the most of us. When entering the park, you have to pay 12 USD for entrance fee.

The process is very easy to follow, drive up the mountain to the parking area (parking is $12). Check in at the window (there was a small line) and receive your vouchers, they give you your time to return to board. There’s plenty of food and drinks, even a place to order food, so stay hydrated. We are at Praks rest skating at the top so that was worth waiting for as the food and service was amazing, and the views! Beware: you climb to over 8500ft in 10 minutes, this is high altitude and for many, you can feel it. Stay hydrated, drink electrolytes. There are lockers to store items in if needed. The floor of the tramway spins around as you head up, I get very motion sick and the tram didn’t bother me much, although some of my party took demotion sick pills.
