As a history nerd, I LOVED visiting Pearl Harbor. I did this trip solo but I saw lots of families and couples there. The only word of caution is that you cannot take an actual book bag (only a wallet) into the national park so prepare for that but otherwise I absolutely loved the experience. Doing the USS Bowfin was a highlight. You do have to pay but going on the submarine was awesome and a once in a lifetime experience. Also they were great with COVID safety guidelines

The tour at Pearl Harbor was self guided and the movie theater was closed due to Covid. The other spots on the tour gave us a good picture of Honolulu with added bonus of visiting the local swap meet with good shopping for souvenirs. Ask AJ if there is time to visit Leonard's bakery for a Malasada it is worth the stop.
