I have never been disappointed taking one of these tours in any town. Has a lot of Hop on/off opportunities. This is great way to get your visit started and understand just how large a foot print the historic parts of Philly encompass.

I previously did a day tour and loved it because you could hop on and off and see all of the city. This trip we had some folks that had difficulty walking so we did the night tour and OMG so great. Weather is cooler and you only get one stop at the rocky stairs for 15 minutes but it was a perfect view of the city and night. Our tour was fully narrated by Dexter who was educated and funny. TIP: Buy tickets earlier in the day and get to the bus by 730pm for an 800 departure in order to get the upper deck seats. If too many people sign up they do include a second bus. It was a great time. You can also negotiate the prices.

Hello Bonnie N, Thank you for choosing Philadelphia Trolley Works & Big Bus. I am so pleased you enjoyed both the Hop On/Hop Off day tour & our Philly By Night tour! I agree, the evening view of the city skyline from the Rocky Steps is spectacular. Also thank you for acknowledging, Dexter, your guide, and for providing some helpful tips to others.

This is the third of three reviews in this set. The first two cover the constitution walking tour and the constitution center. For our anniversary my wife and I thought it would be fun to learn more about the birthplace of this great nation. The last of three you’re we did was the big bus tour. We always enjoy these tours when we visit a city. They are low energy and great fun. It was a beautiful day so we got to sit on the upper deck of the double decker bus. The tour ran us through the town and pointed out points of historical interest or fun facts about the city. Since we had done the walking tour first it was nice to sit down and relax, it was also fun to see some of the same landmarks from a different perspective. If you are in town I would suggest this one for sure. As a side note(we haven’t done this yet) they also have a night tour. My bet is that would be pretty fun too. I would say keep dan can handle it but I don’t know if you would want to make them do the entire tour in one shot. The good news is you can get on and if the busses all day as they move through the city. If you plan your stops right you could make a really fun day out of it.
