I've taken the Big Bus Tours in New York, London, Budapest and Vienna, and this one was the only one that I was less than thrilled about. The tour guides, while friendly were not all that informed, and their commentary was very canned. I didnt' et a sense of local flavor at all. The tour covers a good amount of the Center City, and a bit beyond. The price was good, not that expensive and we used it to get an overall sense of what we wanted to see, which was of value. However, the wait times at stops were quite long (more than the "every 20 minutes" that is promised). Our biggest complaint was that two stops were taken off the tour due to construction which is understandable, however, they don't tell you that on their website, or even at the beginning of the tour. They also didn't plan any other location for these stops, i.e. at the next corner, etc. So we had to walk a good distance to where we wanted to go. I'll probably continue to use Big Bus tours at other locations, but they need to improve the Philly experience before I'd recommend it to my friends.

Hello Kathryn K,
Thank you for choosing Philadelphia Trolley Works and Big Bus, and for your review. Your feedback is important to us. Our website does list the closure of Stop #7, Love Park, and recommends alternative stops to use. In addition, at times, streets and roads are closed by the city spontaneously and for only brief periods throughout the day. In these situations, our sales and tour staff inform guests of these situations in advance if we are made aware of the closure. I do apologize if this did not occur in your case. I am pleased you found our guides friendly, but I would like more information regarding why you were not completely satisfied with the guides' level of knowledge and information. Our guides are all highly trained and each offers a unique perspective depending on their style. Please email me at
