We bought a Philadelphia Pass, which we highly recommend. Comes with full day Big Bus tickets. We rode it multiple times. The staff was friendly and accomodating. They also get that many people do as we did and use the Big Bus more for transportation. So, for example, they were willing to shuttle us, with service vehicles, to our hotel after we got off the last bus of the day. Tours were informative and even a bit varied, even though we rode same route multiple times. Bring cash for tips.

You have a free day use of this city tour bus when you purchase the CityPass coupons (I strongly recommend). The CityPass give you access to the One Liberty Observation Deck (2 visits: 1 during the day, the other at night), to the Franklin institute, the zoo or the aquarium, and the Big Bus tour for one day. If you buy this pass and stay downtown you can walk to all attractions included and the other main ones in Philly and use the "big bus" to go to the zoo. The big bus tour was excellent with good explanations by the guide. There are something like 18 stops along the route and you can hop on and off the bus as many times as you want during one day. I recommend.

Many Hop-Off, Hop-On tours I've taken just have the prerecorded script that you listen to with a headset. Standing O to Jay who did a superb job today! His small details interested us and he was very knowledgable. LOVE doing these types of tours. No stress from driving, you can come on and off at your leisure and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg to tour a city. This was hands-down the best one we've done, and we've done many domestically as well as internationally! Way to go, Jay!
