I learned a lot. I felt comfortable enough to ask questions since I was the only one. Joey knows his stuff. The tour started right on time. I really enjoyed my time. Especially learning about Giovaniā€™s Room bookstore.

Joey was an excellent guide. He was very personable and extremely knowledgable! Living in the suburbs, I've visited Philly and the Gayborhood many times, but I was surprised to learn just how significant Philadelphia was in LGBT history. It was a hot day, and Joey was very considerate of my comfort on the tour- staying in the shade when possible, stopping for water/bathroom breaks. I would highly recommend this tour! I'm looking forward to taking another tour with Beyond the Bell- especially the Badass Women of Philadelphia!

What a fantastic experience! I booked my tour just a couple hours before the starting time, and Joey was so gracious about doing it despite my being his only guidee that day. The starting location was easy to access via public transportation (I took the 7 bus) and he was right on time to get the tour going. He was so knowledgeable and personable, and I feel like I really got a sense of how LGBT history is intertwined with the larger history of Philadelphia-- it was worth every penny, and I would have been happy to spend another two hours picking his brain about the city's past. I'm just sad that I don't have time to do more tours with this company before my departure!
