Premier Juneau Whale Watching Expedition

Overview
Your 3 hour whale watching adventure begins when you board a coach bus that departs downtown Juneau from the Mt. Roberts Tram parking lot. A 25 minute journey through the picturesque landscape of Southeast Alaska will take you to Auke Bay Harbor. “All aboard!” and you’re off for Alaska waters and the ultimate whale watching experience. The star of the tour is the humpback whale, but we are always looking out for sea lions, bald eagles, or the playful orca. The whales are here to feed in our abundant Alaskan waters.  Our naturalist guides you on a 2 hour whale watching tour. With our experienced captains and Juneau being one of the best ports for whale watching in Alaska, this tour will be an unforgettable experience. A light snack and refreshments will be provided.

My husband and I took a whale watching tour with Juneau tours on our recent cruise to Alaska. Captain Dan, and crew Meranda and David were awesome!! Meranda and David were so knowledgeable and made the trip super fun. We were able to see several humpbacks and baby Bunsen even breached right in front of our boat. It was so amazing!! We saw several sea lions and bald eagles, as well.

Nice day out on Auke bay , many humpback whales . Was hopign to see orcas but did not. There are no resident pods that live there so its unpredictable when to see them.

I talked my family into taking the combo tour of whale watching and visiting the Mendenhall Glacier during our cruise in May. I was happy to see that Juneau tours had a great price and were offering a promo code, which sweetened the deal for us. We all were delighted with our experience and I looked like a hero to my family for scheduling such a perfect outing. It wasn't hard to find where to meet up for a nice bus ride to the glacier visitor center on a large bus. We loved hiking the trails around the glacier. My mom was in a wheelchair and easily navigated the Photo Point Trail. It was a little sad that we couldn't get closer to the glacier (but I guess that's what happens when they shrink/recede). We easily found our next bus to take us to the pier for our whale watching tour. Our whale watching tour was just amazing!! We saw a bald eagle swipe a fish right in front of us. We saw plenty of whales, including two mama humpback whales with babies. Even the scenery was incomparable. It was so much more than I expected and it was delightful in every way. Our naturalist guide, Christi (Christ with an I) was amazing and so knowledgeable and delightfully fun. Not only did she have really fun jokes, but she identified every whale by name (by recognizing their unique tail pattern) and was able to answer every question we had. The boat was good-sized and not at all crowded. We enjoyed hanging out at the top, since the weather was fine. I'd totally recommend this company to anyone and I'd love to repeat this tour. In the meantime, I'm going to look at my photos again.....
