Premier Juneau Whale Watching Expedition

Overview
Your 3 hour whale watching adventure begins when you board a coach bus that departs downtown Juneau from the Mt. Roberts Tram parking lot. A 25 minute journey through the picturesque landscape of Southeast Alaska will take you to Auke Bay Harbor. “All aboard!” and you’re off for Alaska waters and the ultimate whale watching experience. The star of the tour is the humpback whale, but we are always looking out for sea lions, bald eagles, or the playful orca. The whales are here to feed in our abundant Alaskan waters.  Our naturalist guides you on a 2 hour whale watching tour. With our experienced captains and Juneau being one of the best ports for whale watching in Alaska, this tour will be an unforgettable experience. A light snack and refreshments will be provided.

We went on the whale watching tour with Captain Jordan. Taylor, and Charlie. I liked that all three of them were very concious about the well-being of the whales. We saw at least 6 whales including a mama and her baby. One of the whales literally popped up right in front of our boat. Charlie and Taylor wete very knowledgeable. They new exactly when the whales would dive so that we could get great pictures. They also explained a lot about the whales and sea life in the area. They even knew the names of the whales we saw. I will use Juneau Tours the next time I visit Alaska.

Our helicopter trip in Juneau got cancelled due to weather. Our group of six were extremely disappointed. When we disembarked the ship, I spotted a booth. A young lady, Mollie, suggested the whale watching tour as an option. We boarded a bus that took us to the boat for whale watching. Our guide, who was from Texas, was great. Sorry I can't remember his name! Once we got to the dock, our crew, Marina and Kara greeted us. They were both full of energy. We saw numerous humpback whales and sea otters on this trip. Kara manipulates her vessel so that you can get up close and personal to these amazing sea creatures. Marina gives you valuable information the entire trip. This is the only all girl crew on the waters up there and they did a fantastic job.
