Premier Juneau Whale Watching Expedition

Overview
Your 3 hour whale watching adventure begins when you board a coach bus that departs downtown Juneau from the Mt. Roberts Tram parking lot. A 25 minute journey through the picturesque landscape of Southeast Alaska will take you to Auke Bay Harbor. “All aboard!” and you’re off for Alaska waters and the ultimate whale watching experience. The star of the tour is the humpback whale, but we are always looking out for sea lions, bald eagles, or the playful orca. The whales are here to feed in our abundant Alaskan waters.  Our naturalist guides you on a 2 hour whale watching tour. With our experienced captains and Juneau being one of the best ports for whale watching in Alaska, this tour will be an unforgettable experience. A light snack and refreshments will be provided.

Found these guys here on TripAdvisor and they did not disappoint. From the bus drivers to the boat crew (Capt Lance, Kevin, Brandon & Danielle), the entire trip was informative and entertaining (and less expensive than the excursion our cruise line offered). Our trip was pretty early in the season, so we were advised to not set expectations too high, but we were pleasantly surprised that not only did we come across humpbacks and their calves, but also Orcas! We had a real curious one come towards the boat and breached right in front of us! It was really a great experience and I'd recommend these guys to anyone.

A fun boat ride out to see the whales. Guaranteed to see whales. We did see some spouts and tails. It was fun!

We traveled out with Captain Ray and Naturalist Andrea on a 10:30 cruise, and had Flame, a humpback whale astounding even Andrea! She did multiple breaches, pectoral flaps, and really put on a show! Captain Ray was very respectful of the time spent at the whales, and did not get too close. We also saw seals, and porpoises. The ship was small and comfortable, yet there were a few empty seats on this Saturday. We were all able to easily move around the vessel, and the captain moved the vessel around so all could take photos. Be sure to use Alaska Galore, they use local crew, and you are not crowded with 150 other people--more like only 18! JR Seattle WA
