Pride Tours NYC’s walking tour is an NYC Pride Partner. Take the most comprehensive tour in New York City that narrates the history of the Stonewall Uprising and the rise of our modern day LGBTQ Pride Movement. This tour starts in Christopher Park, and stops at The Stonewall Inn, and all other sites of LGBTQ historical significance - all while your tour guide narrates the account of the history of our LGBTQ community before the uprising, the account of The Stonewall Uprising, the history of the immediate aftermath, and the rise of Pride! A portion of all of the proceeds of this tour are donated to Heritage of Pride.

You will meet your tour guide at Christopher Park. Your tour guide will narrate the overview of LGBTQ history in the USA and New York City leading up to the Stonewall Uprising.

The Stonewall Inn

At The Stonewall Inn, your tour guide will narrate the account of the early morning hours of June 28th 1969 at The Stonewall Inn/Greenwich Village and the immediate days that followed, the account of The Stonewall Uprising.

Gay Street

At the Gay Street sign, your tour guide will narrate the history of this sign.

We took the walking tour through Greenwich village with Joe, and had a great time. The tour is only about 1h15, but that is enough time to see the most iconic places wrt the Stonewall riots around Christopher Street. For each of the places, Joe has researched a lot about the history, and has a great way of putting the information into stories, so that it does not feel like a dry history lesson. Moreover, Joe has a very good pronunciation. This was especially important for us, since English is not our first language. (It is a big plus for native speakers, when the traffic is a bit louder) I would definitely recommend the tour. It will definitely make this important site for LGBT history much more memorable.
