This was a little tricky the day we arrived. Our flight had been delayed so we were late arriving and one of the main freeways into the city had been closed for the weekend and it was 3 July so the day before all the 4th July stuff and San Fran was packed. We had a delay getting our driver and it felt like a real drag after the flight ands everything but we were 4 aduts and a lot of luggage so we had booked rather then risk a cab (there were plenty of cabs but not necessarily big enough we possibly would have needed two). Once our driver arrived he was lovely, the vehicle was hge and took all the luggage easily. He was knowledgeable about the city and gave us great tips of what to see etc. Overall this was very worth the money we paid.
After confirming the day before to the New York booking office (and being put in a queue for 10 mins at international rate), we arrived at the airport, collected our luggage and called the local San Fran number on the voucher, as directed, to confirm with the driver that we had arrived. This number was incorrect and didn't work. As such we had to call New York, were put on hold again and then eventually managed to get a number from them. It turned out they gave us the number for the wrong local company which caused much confusion. After a third call to New York we finally got the correct number and no apology. We then managed to make contact with the company in San Fran over an hour after we arrived. The problems on the return journey were even worse - see separate review. Do not use Carmel Cars.
Driver rang when he was outside the hotel, he was early but this was fine by us as we were ready to go, had a lovely jeep was luxury smooth ride straight to the airport cant fault the service at all was great.
