Overview

You will depart Rapid City at 8:30am and travel to Mount Rushmore. You will spend time hiking around the monument. Next, you will travel to Crazy Horse Memorial, learning the importance and history of Crazy Horse. Finally, you will get an opportunity to explore beautiful Custer State Park. You will be able to see wildlife at an incredibly close proximity, and enjoy the local flora. In each of these locations, you will gain unique and rare insight into the history of the Black Hills.

There is a two person minimum to book this tour.

Mount Rushmore National Memorial

We will depart Rapid City at 8:30am and travel to Mount Rushmore. Once there, we will spend some time hiking around the monument. You will receive unique information and history about the monument, and have an opportunity to experience local wildlife and flora.

Crazy Horse Memorial

Learn about the rich, and incredible history of Crazy Horse.

Custer State Park

You will get an opportunity to explore beautiful Custer State Park. See wildlife at an incredibly close proximity, and take in the local flora.

We just experienced the most enjoyable tour of our lives! If you’re ever in the area of Mt. Rushmore, SD we highly recommend Black Hills Adventure Tours for a private car tour of Mt. Rushmore, Custer State Park, Crazy Horse and the surrounding areas. Ask for “Rose.” She is a native of South Dakota and knows its history topography, hiking trails, and location of the bison. We flew into Denver Airport from So Cal and rented a car on our what to enjoying “Under Canvas” glamping. Rose picked us up in the lobby and returned us to our tent at the end of a very long, fun day. At every stop we got out of the car to explore and learn about the construction of the tunnels, special spots to view the Mt Rushmore monument, the history of Custer State Park, prairie dogs, donkeys an the ever-elusive bison. We are so thankful she continued driving around until we found a group blocking the road as our trip to Yellowstone was cancelled due to the flooding. Rose does it all… if you’re into hiking, she has hiked most of the known and some very secret trails of the area. Again, we can’t recommend this company AND Rose enough. This is a fabulous tour to take if you only have one day to explore the black hills of south Dakota. Tim was our guide for the day and he was great! Very knowledgeable and very friendly. My 3 generation family day was excellent! Family members ranging from 87-28 all had a fun and educational day with lots of photos and laughs. Custer state park, crazy horse monument and mount Rushmore in one day. Windy roads to and from- glad we had a driver. I highly recommend this tour!
