New York is an overwhelming city. So much to see and so much history that you don't know where to start. Why am I telling you this? Because a day with Sheldon as your tour guide will be easier and more informative than several days on your own. My wife and I had an incredible day with Sheldon filled with laughter and tears, and we look forward to our next visit to NYC and another tour with Sheldon. He is humorous, witty, insightful, and engaging, and he truly enjoys showing people his amazing city. It is clear that Sheldon has found his One Thing. We learned more than we ever expected, especially regarding Wall Street and the prison ships anchored off Brooklyn during the Revolutionary War. As with other reviewers, we have been inspired to learn more about the historical events that occurred in New York. In addition to the tour, Sheldon offered sage advice for visiting the Empire State Building and Statue of Liberty, and followed up with an email with links. He saved us hours of standing in lines. A trip to NYC would not be complete without a day with Sheldon and the Best New York Tour!

Look, I've experienced quite a few tourists tours in my life but seldom I've felt entertained throughout a whole tour and this one lasted for 5 hours and then some. It's hard to describe our experience without spending a crazy amount of time as there was so much variety. Sheldon, our tour guide, is funny, very smart (witty) and very very knowledgeable about New York. He is a true New Yorker and turned out more than capable to give us some highlights while giving us the feeling that the tour was quite exhaustive. It can't be though, since New York City is big and has a long history ;). I love New York City. Beforehand I thought it was just going to be overwhelming and basically 'just' a big city. Without a guide I'm sure we would have missed the vast majority of the stuff we actually were able to experience. New York City is so much different than I initially expected and Sheldon's tour was nothing short of stellar and vital in growing our understanding of culture and important historical beats. Partially this is because Sheldon knows exactly what to show, where to take you and how to stage New York's cultural makeup. We had a wonderful time and the tour inspired us to dig into more NYC history and American history in general. If I had to pick one highlight I would mention the 9/11 memorial. This is the point where I was close to tearing up. It was so impressive and the way Sheldon was able to convey his take on the dreadful event, eventually leading to the work of art right nowadays residing at ground zero, gave me a deeper understanding and I could almost feel his grieve and NY pride at the same time. Incredible. Thanks for making our visit so memorable and thanks for being awesome, Sheldon!

We spent an excellent day with Sheldon touring around Manhattan and a bit of Brooklyn with our 2 older kids. We were thoroughly pleased with the tour and we would do it again if we ever came back to NYC. Sheldon provides personalized service and his knowledge of New York is unsurpassed. Overall, I would recommend a private tour because it is more efficient and you can customize it to suit your needs.
