National Constitution Center

Learn about the city’s role in the American revolution and fight for independence. See Benjamin Franklin's Grave from the outside, and walk by the National Constitution Centre, dedicated to telling the story of the U.S. Constitution.

Franklin Court

Explore Franklin Court, the historic site where Benjamin Franklin lived and worked during his time in Philadelphia, and walk past the first post office in America, established by Benjamin Franklin in 1775 who was appointed the first Postmaster General of the United States.

Christ Church

See Christ Church, founded in the 17th century which played an important role in American history attended by many of the founding fathers, including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and Betsy Ross.

The President's House

Discover The President's House Site, where Presidents George Washington and John Adams lived during their terms in the office including a memorial that honours the enslaved Africans who lived and worked there.

Joseph was great, knowledgeable and witty. On a hot day, there was lots of shade to be had and benches at certain locations. A bathroom / drink beak included as well.

And on a hot day, the shade, benches, and breaks for bathroom and drinks are definitely a bonus. Our guide was EXCELLENT. Would recommend him - extremely kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. However, the tour itself was NOT as described for an expensive”Private tour.” Our tickets for Independence Hall was what we really wanted on the 2 hour tour but the tickets were for long after the tour so we were checked out of our hotel and leaving for a commitment - had to miss Independence Hall tour.

To clarify, our guide sent the tickets on August 22nd for the Founding Fathers of Philadelphia: Private 2-hour History Tour scheduled for August 23rd. We also advised arriving early to try to secure an earlier tour time. I’m glad that you were able to get an earlier tour with the help of the park ranger. I understand that the timing still didn’t fit well with your schedule, and I’m truly sorry for any inconvenience this caused; unfortunately, this was beyond our control. Wonderful perspective given with use of IPad for reference of what we were seeing old vs. new. Reid was very personable and kept it fun. So much history and information with a local’s point of view. Highly recommend!
