Overview

The price listed is for the entire van for up to 10 people. We live in Volcano and we are both National Park Certified Interpretive Guides so you are getting the best experience. Out of the 3 1/3 hours we are driving for only about 50-55 minutes.

We created this activity to make learning about volcanoes budget and family-friendly. There is so much to learn in the Park and so much to see it would be difficult to know how to prioritize if you are on your own. Ride along in our Mercedes van and see video footage of past eruptions. This tour is customized to your and your group's interests. There are easy hikes and more difficult hikes, there is a lot to see and do if you have a little help with your options.

Give you and your family an exciting experience you will remember and get more out of the National Park than you would if you were on your own!

* Dresscode: LAYERS and raincoats, mountain weather can change 20 degrees in ONE morning. We only provide raincoats for adults. *

This tour was absolutely amazing. Our tour guide, Skylar, was great. Very knowledgeable and laid back. I brought my elderly mother and aunt, and Skylar was so accommodating. They weren’t able to walk or hike a lot so he geared our tour around what they could do but also kept it adventurous for my cousin and me. The pictures Skylar took for us turned out wonderful. If I could have, I’d have given them a 10 out of 5.

The Volcano National Park was amazing and Rob was FABULOUS! This tour was the top highlight from our trip! The van was very clean and was for our family only—a feature we really appreciated! Meeting Rob at 5am was the best way to see the volcano and the changes sunrise brings. Rob was passionate, informative and helped us understand what we were looking at. After the tour concluded, we had breakfast at the Volcano House with a tremendous volcano view. Rob took many fabulous pictures that were emailed to us after the tour concluded. The other highlight was the list of key activities emailed to us before we arrived in Hawaii. This list was amazing and we were able to do many of the activities during our week on the Big Island! A truly GREAT resource to help newbie visitors prioritize what to see and do. You will not be disappointed if you book with Big Island VIP tours. An amazing experience! Fantastic experience! We took the 5AM tour and our guide Skylar arrived on time to meet us. Loved being able to watch the sun rise behind the Kīlauea crater. We saw a lot in 4 hours, and learned tons about volcanoes. If your group can commit to the meet-up time, I recommend the early tour. Park was getting quite busy by the time we finished. As you can see, we got a “front-row” view to the crater and sunrise. Nice having Skylar’s undivided attention to answer our questions and take pictures for us.

Thank you so much! I TOTALLY agree, the 5 AM start time is totally worth it, most time zones are behind Hawaii so 5 AM here is 10 or 11 AM from the East coast. Thank you for choosing us and thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review!
