Overview

Sometimes the best way to get closer is to get away. There’s no better place to spend quality time together than Hawaii’s North Shore, and you haven’t seen the island until you’ve seen it by horseback, riding through the forest trails and overlooking the ocean.
This is a unique and unforgettable experience, far away from all the noise of the regular tourist spots. You’ll see a side of Oahu that many don’t know about and enjoy a private picnic together, complete with delicious sandwiches on fresh homemade bread, fruit, and a bottle of sparkling cider. The highlight of the ride is a sweeping panoramic view of the ocean from our lookout point, where you can take in the full scale and beauty of the island. (If you can take your eyes off each other, that is.)

We so enjoyed our sweetheart horseback ride with our guide Riley! Beautiful views all around, knowledgeable and patient staff and sweet horses! We especially loved Princess Cedar and Kona. ❤️

Gunstock ranch is beautiful with incredibly well trained horses, amazing views and a phenomenal staff. Kali and Drew were amazing tour guides. They kept it fun, taking us through all the best trails with some great views and stretches of open country to trot or canter. They are great riders, and teachers. They also are great at conversation, keeping us laughing and enjoying the ride from start to finish. Their knowledge of horses, the ranch and things of the like are impressive. I would certainly recommend asking for them, and doing a sunset dinner ride or advanced ride, very much worth it!

As a belated birthday gift, my boyfriend treated me to a private sweetheart horseback ride, and it was so much fun! I've been wanting to go horseback riding, so I was excited that he signed us up for a nice walking ride that came with a lunch picnic. We went on June 17, 2020 and our trail guide was Kayla. After checking in, she showed us some basic horse handling and safety guidelines, then we saddled up and went on a nice walking tour with our horses. Our horses for our ride were Gus and Raider. During the ride, she told us about the ranch's history and pointed out different areas of the landscape, even telling us about some of the plants and trees on the property. It was very enjoyable and it's incredible just how big the property is! We saw some cows grazing along our ride. Plus the views were so beautiful! The picnic lunch was nicely packed and we got to eat in a nicely shaded, quiet area. We had such a great time and want to come back. Thank you, Kayla, for being our awesome tour guide!
