Railbikes along Pudding Creek

Overview
Pedaling along our historic tracks, bathed in dappled sunlight and a light breeze, you’ll experience a new freedom on the rails, unlike anything else. Without the need to steer, you’re unbound, able to look around at the wonder of this untouched stretch of the natural world, spotting blue herons, osprey, an occasional lounging turtle, perhaps a playful river otter, a deer munching on the foliage, and during peak berry season maybe even a bear.

Great fun, but strenuous for these two seniors, who over estimated our fitness level. Friendly, professional staff made sure everyone understood the mechanics and rules. They also talked about the redwoods. Pretty scenery and the pavilion among the redwoods a welcome respite. The rail bikes are electric assist, not fully powered, and our legs got tired!

Our group had a great time pedaling along the tracks. If you didn't want to peddle they had a peddle assist motor. So much fun. Bring some snacks or drinks we stopped at a really nice picnic area. It even had corn hole, connect 4, and a couple of walking trails you can take. It was so pretty up there. My suggestion is make sure to bring a light weight jacket or sweatshirt. At times in the shade was chilly. The staff was great!

A great experience up and close to nature. You can take a short hike at the turnaround or bring a lunch and watch the train come in. Johnny and Ezra will take care of you. Friendly dudes.
