Salem Kids Slightly Spooky Tour

Overview
This tour combines true tales from Salem’s past with some mild ghost stories just for kids age 6+. Our aim is not to scare the heck out of your kids, but to provide a little shiver and bit of mystery for kids who like ghost stories. We are also telling you intriguing historical facts as well. This tour follows a route that is near the downtown, but it’s a little off the beaten path, very picturesque, and you’ll feel as if you stepped back in time. The tour ends at our historic and creepy Broad Street Cemetery, which was established in 1655. Meets at 316 Essex Street.
For over twelve years, parents traveling with kids have chosen Salem Kids Tours for a fun, well-researched and fascinating trip through time. Many times we have heard from kids, “I didn’t want the tour to end.” Parents have described our tours as the highlight of their trip to Salem. We are happy to show you around. We love kids, we understand their unique needs, and we look forward to meeting you on one of our tours.

We did the tour with 4 kids 11, 9, 6, 5. The tour was mostly historical with just a few very lite ghost stories thrown in. Which was perfect, we wanted the kids to get a feel for Salem not have it be the source of nightmares for months after vacation. The walking was fairly easy walking and our two youngers one's did it with no problem. Our tour guide (a guy that was a high school teacher for the life of me I can't remember his name) was great at engaging all the kids while keeping it informative for the adults. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone bringing kids to Salem.

Hi friends, I'm so glad you had a fun tour with Matt! I love what you said about kids not having nightmares; that's our aim with the ghostly stories. History with just a touch of mystery. Thank you for your review! Alicia & Matt

We did the walking history tour with a 14, 12 and 7 year old boys, and a 20 month old toddler. Alicia was great, and kept everyone engaged for the entire tour (adults included). If we make our way back to Salem we would definitely consider taking the Slightly Spooky Tour.

Based on a google search of kids activities in Salem, and stumbling on these trip advisor reviews, we decided to give the Salem kids history walking tour a try. It was one hour well spent! Jon was our tour guide and did a great job bringing the history of Salem to life for us and the three other families on the tour. We learned quite a bit about the history of Salem, including the witch trials but much more as well. Our kids are 9 and 6 and enjoyed the tour very much. It was the perfect amount of tour time for that age group, the right amount of walking, and an enjoyable learning experience. Jon even stayed over the tour time to ensure every question was answered. Thank you for a great Salem experience!
