We had a great afternoon cruise on the Privateer with the group from San Diego Whale Watch. We saw 5 blue whales multiple times and other spouts in the distance. The crew was great the entire trip and very informative. We didn't see any dolphins on this trip. Parking can be congested in the parking lot, so beware of that. There are parking spots on the street in front of the building as well. We got a great deal through Groupon and it was worth every penny.

My husband and I went on this tour Monday, July 21st. We went on a morning cruise because we thought that would be better for us. The crew was super helpful and informative throughout the entire cruise. I was honestly worried we wouldn't see anything, but I saw so many amazing animals while on this excursion. Now I know every cruise is different, they can't guarantee that the whales and dolphins will want to be seen. However, they do have a sighting guarantee, where if you don't see any animals while out on the ocean you will get a free pass to come back again. Furthermore, if you only see dolphins you will get a 50% off coupon to come back. We were very lucky and got to see several Blue Whales, Sea Lions, a Seal, Dolphins, and even a hammerhead shark. I've never experienced anything like this before, I will never forget it. They don't over fill the boat, so everyone is always able to see the animals when they are spotted. The staff really loves their jobs and were more than willing to answer questions. They were also super helpful when people were feeling well. They do sell motion-sickness medicine on the boat (bring cash). I strongly recommend you take it just as a precaution. Bring extra sunscreen, a light jacket, and mini-binoculars wouldn't be a bad idea. Don't miss out on this amazing experience!!!

Even though we didn't see any whales, we did get to see herd of over a hundred dolphins swimming alongside the boat. It was a beautiful sight to see.
