Overview

Our trips depart from Mission Bay, which requires only a short 10 minute journey access to the open ocean where whales and dolphins can be seen! The search for whales and other animals begins as soon as you depart the dock and our marine biologists are on the microphone explaining exactly what to expect and what you are seeing from the get go!

The weather was beautiful and the crew was awesome. We did see 5 gray whales and 1 humpback, but the whales were up and down so fast, from the time the whales were spotted until the time they went completely under the water you were only able to get a glimpse of them. If you are looking for an enjoyable ride out in the ocean for a few hours I would recommend it.

We went out on a very nice day, and didn't see much. Of course this is beyond the control of the vendor. Another note is that in contrast to east coast whale watching where whale breeches are common, apparently it is not common here. Great crew nice boat and for money (groupon) well worth it, recommended. Consider seasick prevention if your prone.

What a great way to spend a few hours in San Diego. The boat, crew and prices (via Groupon) were all excellent and I would highly recommend this for anyone who wants great value whale watch experience in San Diego. On our day we were lucky to see 6 whales, hundreds of dolphins and sea lions. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour and you will too.
