It was wonderful, we saw it all, whales, dolphins and sun fish. Though it was a little breezy and the waves a little large as you first started out, it calmed enough that you were able to enjoy the cruise without that queasy feeling, but heed the Captains advice and take anti-motion sickness pills even if you think you might get sick because an ounce of prevention is worth more than a bucket of puke. The commentary along the way was very insightful and informative. The crew was very kind and helpful. You can purchase food, drinks and souvenirs while on your voyage. I need to mention this though, don't sit at the restaurant out door seating area, you will be chased off if not eating from their menu, that being said they need you install more seating outside for the folks going on the boat, there were to many older folks and ones with disabilities that would appreciate it as would other paying customers. But outside of that it was a perfect 10.

My husband and I went on a morning whale watch a few weeks ago. Going into it we knew there'd be a chance we wouldn't see much but the boat crew said they'd been having good luck lately so we were hopeful. Right out of the bay we saw sea lions, some interesting birds and fish. Within ten minutes we found ourselves in a pod of dolphins. The crew estimated there were about 40-50 and they were getting playful with the boat, swimming alongside of us and jumping out of the water. It was absolutely amazing to see! The dolphins stayed with us quite a while and not too much later we spotted our first whales. This was truly an experience to watch the whales surface and to be able to hear them breathe. We initially encountered two whales traveling together. The boat crew was so informative and provided a lot of details about the migration patterns of the whales, their diets, the different types of whales in the area, etc. Before too long we encountered another group of whales so in total we were able to follow alongside 6 whales that were all traveling fairly close together. The boat crew was sensitive to the fact that there were a lot of passengers and we couldn't all be on the same side of the boat so they made sure to give ample time for each side of the boat to be closest to the whales. We got a lot of great photos. The crew was great- they made rounds and answered any questions we had, passed out blankets for anyone that was chilly. They all seemed to be having fun and were passionate about their jobs. At the end of the tour, they passed out 50% off coupons for future whale watch tours (no expiration date). This was such a great experience, well worth the time and money!

Paid $39 thru Groupon for 2 of us to see Whales! When we saw our first one, I wept. The Marine Biologist on board taught us about the whales ... their behavior and migration patterns, life expectancy, etc. HUGE value added to the tour with her present! We ended up seeing 3 adult whales and dozens (at least 100) dolphins. We weren't all that close to them..... guessing about 10 car lengths away .... but it was still an incredible experience. I took dramamine in advance but regretted it since the water was relatively calm and the drug made me feel lethargic. I'd say SKIP it unless you are susceptible to sea sickness. TIPs: Get your groupon coupon in advance. Dress in layers. We wore scarves and gloves during our 75 & sunny , 1pm tour in mid-January Get in line early so you can get an outside seat for a better view of the whales! (just take turns with the folks on the inside)
