Overview

Our trips depart from Mission Bay, which requires only a short 10 minute journey access to the open ocean where whales and dolphins can be seen! The search for whales and other animals begins as soon as you depart the dock and our marine biologists are on the microphone explaining exactly what to expect and what you are seeing from the get go!
Typically our trips are 2.5-3 hours in length, but time can vary based on seasons and locations of sightings.

Great experience and I enjoyed the educational bits from the tour guide. We saw one grey whale, a school of molamola fish, and a pod of dolphins that happily swam alongside the boat! Unfortunately I got a little sea sick, so try to plan ahead with Dramamine because the boat does sway a lot out there.

The crew was excellent, especially Tai, the marine biologist. He kept a very interesting commentary about the various marine animals we saw. We caught a few glimpses of a mother grey whale and her calf. The captain of the boat expertly kept up with the pair without getting too close, so as not to scare them. We also saw a couple large pods of common dolphin. They were racing around and under the boat and surfing in our wake. We used a Groupon for this trip and felt we got an excellent value. We would definitely take this trip again!

Not only did we see a whale, we saw her several times as we followed at a polite distance while she surfaced and dived, raising her tail in the air. It was a beautiful day and we loved every minute of the trip, in spite of some rough water. We saw dolphins, sea lions, and many different types of sea birds. We've already recommended the trip to several friends and hope to do it again soon.
