We went on the tour the day after the 4th of July. Although we did not see any whales, we saw plenty of dolphins, three different types and enjoyed the trip. It was relaxing and the weather was gorgeous. My husband and I LOVE to be on boats so we were happy to just visit with the crew and people on the boat. The crew is very attentive and pleasant. We purchased a groupon for 2. We are looking forward to taking friends on the 8 hour tour to the Coronado Islands at the end of the month. I only saw one sick person bit the water was extremely calm.

... I saw dolphins!! This was my first time whale-er- dolphin watching and I must say, I thought I would need binoculars like in the movies to see far off sea mammals. Nnnope! I worried that the dolphins might hit their playful heads on the ship/boat/whatever the PC nautical term is... The snacks/drinks on board were really well priced (at least for me who is used to NYC prices).

On the last day of my families vacation in San Diego I took my family for our first whale watching experience. It was more than we could have asked for. We followed a Humpback whale and watched in amazement as the whale jumped and jumped. Best way to end a southern California vacation. The crew were great and very knowledgeable about the different whales and where to be on the boat depending on what the whale was doing. I loved that they got just as excited as we were when watching the whale. I was entertained. We elected to stay on the top deck versus the front of the boat. When the whale decided to check the boat out we had the best view when it jumped right beside the boat. We also watch a pod of dolphins feeding. It was just like what I've seen on the discovery channel. Next time we are in San Diego we'll be on the boat again.
