San Diego Whale Watching Tour

Overview
Our trips depart from Mission Bay, which requires only a short 10 minute journey access to the open ocean where whales and dolphins can be seen! The search for whales and other animals begins as soon as you depart the dock and our marine biologists are on the microphone explaining exactly what to expect and what you are seeing from the get go!
Typically our trips are 2.5-3 hours in length, but time can vary based on seasons and locations of sightings.

I have been on a few whale watching trips without seeing a whale. This time we saw a Minke whale, which was a treat! We also saw a very entertaining group of dolphins, always sea lions. The commentary was very well done. The crew worked hard to find some wildlife. It was a beautiful day, the water was really calm and by that I mean there were no whitecaps. However, there is a lot of motion and there was some seasickness. But there was also kind people to help!

Saw minkie whales and pod of dolphins. Worth the money! Things were explained and they took the time to seek out various sea life.

We've gone on this whale watching trip 2 years in a row and we've seen whales both times, plus dolphins galore and even a hammerhead shark. And a bazillion birds. Even if you don't see a whale, though, this is a pleasant, informative and fun trip. Its well worth the very reasonable price. And I can't forget to say the staff and crew are top notch. We'll be back next year!
