The whale watching experience was very cool. I felt sick for much of the ride, but I was "too cool" (my words) to take a Dramamine so it's my fault. They did say that we would be experiencing large swells and that would make for a bumpy ride. We didn't see any whales, but plenty of bottle nosed dolphins, which was worth the price of admission itself. We found a Groupon for the trip so google that before you go. We also got a half off coupon for next time! Well with the time and money, but take a sea sick pill!

Went out on the Privateer for a Whale watch yesterday Great day out on the water. Only saw a few Dolphins and no whales but a great trip anyway. Not their fault that there were no Whales. They made the trip quite informative and fun. On Tuesdays it is only $22 per person and if you see no whales they give you a 1/2 price coupon for another trip. So for $11 for 3 hours on the water it is great. We went on a groupon and paid like $36 for the 2 of us so we were even ahead of the Tuesday special. We will be going again next time we are down this way. Remember to take a light jacket as it gets cool out on the water. And you can take a bag with some light snacks and water. Beer on the boat is $4.

Well. We did not get to see any whales. However, this was due to the weather. The seas were very rough the day we went. The staff took us out anyway. This was fine with us but others on the tour did not fare very well. A number of them became sea sick. The captain made the decision to return back to the dock. The staff was very professional and extremely courteous. Very knowledgeable and in spite of not seeing any whales I still learned quite a bit. For me, as a boater, it was still a very enjoyable boat ride. We did receive a voucher for a free trip the next time we are in San Diego. We plan to take advantage of it!
