My friend and I went excited to be out on the ocean and maybe see some whales and other neat things. With whale watching you have to understand that there's always a chance you might not see anything and that that is part of the experience! We saw lots of sea lions and dolphins and the staff spotted a large blue whale in the distance but alas the blue whale did a dive and went to feed for too long and we weren't able to track it again. The great thing about the boat is the staff- they regularly check to see how people are doing, get to know you and are so accommodating. The boat bathrooms are also VERY CLEAN as is the rest of the boat. They have everything fromm chips, sparkling wine, coke and beer on the boat to purchase. The guide of the boat talks about the different things you see on the water and some other great trivia as well (with lots of great personality to make people laugh). Even though we missed seeing some whales the trip was still worth it. They even gave us 50% off passes when getting off the boat for next time. When back in San Diego we are going to try again!

OK, no one said they employeed Aquaman, so I can't blame them for not seeing any non-toothed whales (nothing but dolphins). They did offer use 50% passes for another try; which is very cool of them. I think we'll take them up on it! The boat and the crew were great, the weather was a little foggy in the morning but burned off. Nice to be on the water but unfortunately, that's all we got out of it.

We had a great whale watching cruise near the end of the whale migration. Our captain and crew made a great effort to find us some whales and dolphins to see. It was a bit cool, but the sun was shining and we had a great, fun experience. And SD Whale Watch is ideally located for a drive up the coast after your cruise. Thanks for a great day!
