San Diego Whale Watching Tour

Overview
Our trips depart from Mission Bay, which requires only a short 10 minute journey access to the open ocean where whales and dolphins can be seen! The search for whales and other animals begins as soon as you depart the dock and our marine biologists are on the microphone explaining exactly what to expect and what you are seeing from the get go!
Typically our trips are 2.5-3 hours in length, but time can vary based on seasons and locations of sightings.

We did not see whales but many dolphins. The boat trip itself was memorable and we enjoyed it very much!

It was a great experience, the service, boat, staff, everything. We only saw one whale and we saw a hug pod of dolphins playing and jumping. Do bring the following, • Sunscreen • Sunglasses • Layers • Camera

We took the afternoon trip out when we were in San Diego. The weather was lovely and the boat and crew was nice. It’s located near to Mission Beach where we were staying and there is plenty of parking on the street. There are plenty of drinks and snacks on the boat. Unfortunately in the three and a half hours we struggled to find any marine life. We didn’t see an whales which was very disappointing. We were very lucky just as we were going to head back to see a very, very large pod of dolphins. There were around 125 of them playing in the sea and it was a fantastic site to see. Wild dolphins playing and having fun. I am being generous with the four stars as really as we only saw dolphins it was disappointing but you can’t control wildlife! They did give everyone a 50% off voucher for a return trip, anytime as we didn’t see whales so a generous offer. It’s a lovely few hours in the sunshine and doing something different so would give it a try if you are in San Diego.
