San Diego Whale Watching Tour

Overview
Our trips depart from Mission Bay, which requires only a short 10 minute journey access to the open ocean where whales and dolphins can be seen! The search for whales and other animals begins as soon as you depart the dock and our marine biologists are on the microphone explaining exactly what to expect and what you are seeing from the get go!
Typically our trips are 2.5-3 hours in length, but time can vary based on seasons and locations of sightings.

My family and I booked the 3 hour tour and we loved it. The crew was fantastic and we got to see several common dolphins and a few blue whales. The seas were pretty choppy but the captain did a great job of keeping the boat from rocking too much. I highly recommend this trip for the money - search on Groupon for tickets before booking.

Dani was our marine biologist and she was amazing with my son who had lots of questions. We actually went once and saw nothing but they took us on a quick tour of the bay anyway and gave us vouchers. The second time we saw a LOT of dolphins and a couple of whales although I didn't personally see them but it was still a neat experience. The kids loved being on the ocean. They offer snacks and drinks but cash only. Also check Groupon before you go as they have deals all the time. There is a bathroom on the boat which was nice.

I went out whale watching with my wife, we looked at the sightings log on the jetty and didn’t hold out much hope we’d see a whale...we were proved wrong!!, about 12 miles out to see the captain announced they’d seen a whale in the distance, so they deployed a drone to fly ahead and locate it, we eventually caught up and saw a fin whale...what an amazing sight to see!! Thanks to all the staff onboard for making it such a memorable trip.
