Overview

The San Diego Zoo Safari Park, an 1,800-acre wildlife park, is home to more than 3,600 animals representing over 300 species. More than 1 million guests each year see wildlife in herds of mixed species, in expansive savanna habitats. The Safari Park also maintains a vast accredited botanical collection of more than 1.3 million plant specimens, representing over 3,700 species. Guests are invited to take part in thrilling safari experiences and create lasting memories, while supporting San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance’s conservation efforts to save wildlife worldwide.

Tickets must be purchased at least one day prior to visit. With mobile tickets, simply scan your phone for direct entry into the Safari Park.

Very disappointed. After being to the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, NE, I can honestly say this was very disappointing in comparison. So small, barely any attractions or animals. I don't understand the hype. The location is the only reason for it's popularity.

Such a beautiful place. It will definitely take all day. First thing you should do is get there early and ride the shuttle that takes you all around the zoo. Lots of good information, let’s you get a quick glance of the place and helps you to get more of a mental picture of the place and helps you realize just how big it is. So make a route for you and your family after the shuttle and have fun! Walking shoes 100% a must!

Really enjoyed the zoo especially the apes. Would recommend it highly. The park is very well payed out and easy walking. I would first take the trolley ride to get the layout of the park.
