The team at Blazing Saddles are nothing but enthusiastic and professional. We hired a couple of E-Bikes to bike over the bridge, towards Marin Headlands (stopping at Battery Wallace for the most incredible views of the bridge and city), up to Sasualito, and then further up to Mill Valley. This was a great half-day tour (just on 60km) and included a stop at Joinery Beerhall in Sausalito (we got a discount with the bike hire). Unfortunately the battery on one of the bikes ran low very quickly, so besides using it for the hilly parts, it was turned off the whole time. The team were apologetic about this and we ended up only paying the price of a standard bike which was very generous! Good value for money and good team to deal with.

I have been living in the Bay Area for over a year but had never "biked the bridge" to Sausalito. A friend came to visit and wanted to try and I am SO happy we did! First of all, the views are great. Biking from Fisherman's Wharf past Crissy Field and to the Presidio allows you to see some of SF's most famous sights in a pretty efficient way. Then of course there's the Golden Gate Bridge and Sausalito itself is just delightful. There's plenty of places to walk around, shop, eat/drink and of course visit the house boats. In terms of difficulty, it's 8 miles from the Wharf to Sausalito and there are two hills: the first is very steep but short and the second is a little longer and more gradual. I hadn't really been on a bike in like 5 years (although I do walk everywhere and run regularly) and I thought it was slightly challenging but very doable for anyone that's relatively active. There are also opportunities to stop to rest, fill your water bottle or use the bathroom. As far as Blazing Saddles, I was nothing but impressed. The bikes and helmet were in really good shape, the map and video instructions were clear. We had a question while we were out so we call back and received a swift, helpful response. All in all, it was one of the best days I've had since moving out here and this will be one of my new MUST do's when visitors come to town! Last note: You will get a lock with your rental, but don't pay $3 to park your bike in Sausalito! The first bike park you'll see is on the right and costs money, but keep going past the ferry building (a few blocks past Bay Street) and there is free bike parking :)

This is a MUST DO while in San Francisco! Blazing Saddles got us fully equipped and ready to ride with the e-blazers. They came with fitted helmets, storage pouch and bike lock and made sure we didn't leave until we felt comfortable about the bikes and where we were going. The e-bikes battery fully lasted from 10am and got us to the 5:45 Tiburon Ferry then back to Blazing Saddles, toward the end the electric battery was starting to deplete making hills a bit tough. Don't be fooled that these bikes are like mopeds that drive on their own....you still need to pedal to move. The electric battery assists you from level 1-5 depending on how much help you need pedaling. I used 1-2 for most of the time, 4-5 needed on steeper hills and towards the end when I was super tired I used 3 even on flat sections. Blazing Saddles were super friendly, the bikes were in excellent condition and they all clapped to welcome us back from a full day of biking. I totally recommend these guys to anyone! Lunch at Barrel House in Sausalito was amazing too.
