I love walking tours, and this one is no exception. Kathy, our tour guide, is a local resident of this diverse and unique neighborhood. Her personal knowledge and experiences help make this tour more unique, since it combines history with a personal perspective. We encountered several locals who knew her and said hello by name. I even got the scoop on some of the best neighborhood restaurants, which I plan to patronize during my next visit. If you're looking for an activity removed from the rest of the typical tourist spots, this is definitely it.

I really liked this walking tour. I found out things about the Castro I never knew about and I had taken a similar tour 20-something years ago. Our tour guide was very attentive of us, never rushing though anything, checking to see if we had any question. She really knew her stuff. Anyone interested in the GLBT beginnings, struggles and today in San Fransisco, this is the tour for you.

Throughly enjoyed this walking tour this morning. Lucky enough that a small group meant we each had individual attention from the knowledgable Kathy. A great introduction to the history and the present of this iconic area.
