I had visited the Castro previously and just knew I was missing something. This tour highlighted all of the things that I missed that first time. We learned so much about the Castro culture and history.

This wonderful walk around the Castro really gave you a flavour of the history of the place, as well as showing what a tight knit community it is now. It taught even those that thought they knew everything about the district something new, and showed what an important place this was and still is in the fight for equal rights. Kathy is the perfect tour guide. Go do this tour, you won't be disappointed.

I was a little unsure whether this tour would live up to our expectations but it really did. Kathy was so friendly, warm, knowledgeable and funny. We walked around the Castro at a very leisurely pace. Even our 'exercise shy' friend could not complain about the pace and length of walking. The majority of the tour was centred around the work of Harvey Milk and the growth of the Castro community. However, Kathy also had useful facts about the resemblance of flags, events, art work, historical symbolism and current project work being undertaken. One of the lasting impressions i will have of this tour is how people in the castro community, like Kathy, continue to to help promote equality for all and the great community spirit that thrives in the Castro neighbourhood. I was truly inspired by Kathy and her friends in the Castro. Tip: would be to have a hand out with notable facts/ info to be able to refer to after the tour as there was so much new knowledge,i struggled to retain it all. Ru and friends.
