We had a great morning on this tour. Kathy quite clearly loves San Francisco and the Castro and cares about and it shows and makes for a great trip. If you want to learn about the history of the Castro and in doing so some LGBT history too and also about Harvey Milk then this is a great little insight. In all honesty, we knew a lot of what Kathy said from books and such like and maybe had slightly different opinions on some of the LGBT stuff but she's a great guide and gives a great friendly overview. We really enjoyed hearing her take on things and her own experiences as part of the community. We also bumped into a couple of her friends which made it feel like a very authentic experience of the neighbourhood. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in the Castro district and its history.

This tour is what you wish all walking tours could be - a friendly, insightful, thought-provoking ramble through a really amazing neighbourhood. I walked away thinking "this is what travel is all about." Kathy is an excellent guide with a really tapped-in knowledge of the area. She's involved in the local community, and it shows. How I wish more Americans would be open to hearing the stories told in this tour - our world would be a better place.

I went on this tour in January 2010 (possibly earlier?) Kathy was fantastic, the tour wasn’t rushed, plenty of time for picture taking. My tour was a small group of people, walking gently around the Castro, and we even stopped for a drink. If you only have a few days, or a few weeks, you should do this tour. John
