Johnson Square

We stop here to talk about Johnny Mercer and the Midnight movie soundtrack.

Wright Square

We talk about the movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and its characters.

Chippewa Square

A brief presentation about the movie Forrest Gump.

Cathedral of St. John the Baptist

Talk briefly about the Cathedral's history and relationship with St. Patrick's Day.

Hamilton-Turner House

Talk about Joe Odom, Nancy Hillis/Mandy.

Mercer Williams House Museum

We stand in front of the Mercer Williams House Museum and discuss its history to present-day, its role in the movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, and the trials of Jim Williams. We do not go inside the museum.

Armstrong House

We stand in front of the Armstrong House and discuss its history and its role in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. It is now a private home, we do not enter it.

Forsyth Park

Our tour ends here with a discussion on how the author wrote the book.

Very interesting back story of the Mercer House and who inherited it. Our guide knew the real story and facts about the book, the movie, main characters, John Berendt and the “bird girl”.

Martin was a great tour host and was very knowledgeable. His experience and expertise on the book and film complimented the tour very well. The walk was at a great pace and had plenty of cool stops at some of the famous sites in the book and movie. Would definitely recommend!

Definitely do this tour!!! I read the book decades ago my bff never read it but by the end of the tour felt like she had and I felt like I just read it again. Martin was a great story teller an excellent guide and very knowledgeable. Hit all the best spots and well worth it!!!
