Scenic Horseback Adventure

Overview
Enjoy a 1 hr hour walking guided horseback ride with panoramic views of the Verde Valley. We are only 30 minutes from Sedona. This ride is tailored for nervous first timers, beginners, families and children. The ride takes you around the Texas Longhorn pen where you will get to see Brutus, the gentle giant as well as buffalo.. Enjoy views of the Verde Valley, Mingus Mountains and see as far as the San Fransico Peaks in Flagstaff. The old west feel of this location, the western facades, horses, chickens, goats and cows will make you want to trade your shiny shoes for an old pair of boots and your fancy car for a horse! Guest are also welcome to feed the barbado sheep, give the horses treats or take a selfie with the minis.

While the vista you see on the ride is beautiful there are some concerns with the company. You sign a waiver before you ride (not surprising), the owner basically says in so many words ā€œhorses will be horsesā€, I 100% witnessed that statement. Some of the horses did seem to get spooked easily so I would recommend not getting onto any horse while saddling up that doesnā€™t seem to listen. The company also is completely ill equipped should there be an incident of a rider falling/thrown off. It was enjoyable but be aware these horses are not all calm, some have been wild and ā€œbrokenā€.

Thank you for leaving a review as we take all our feedback seriously and make any changes necessary. It seems as though you have been misinformed on the horses here at the ranch. None of the horses here at the ranch are "wild" wild horses mean untamed horses and a wild horse you wouldnt be able to catch, let alone mount. All of our horses have gone through extensive training. All horses are safe for beginners and first timers. The accidents we have had here at the ranch that are very few and far in between, every single accident has actually been caused by guest not listening or following instructions provided in the riding demo before mounting. Horses do have minds of their own but we pride ourselves in safety and care of our guests and horses. That is actually our number #1 priority here. We always hope for a five star review as our guests enjoying this activity is how we provide take care of these beautiful creatures. Thank for riding with us and have a blessed rest of your Summer.

Horseback riding is always fun, but this was a bit disappointing. On the plus side, they have an awesome petting zoo kids will love - baby goats were newborn and we enjoyed that. One negative side - this was a very large nose-to-tail group ride (over 20 riders). We paid for a 1.5 hr ride, but got an hour of very slow riding due to late and inexperienced riders which took a very long time to load. They have long wooden corridors for loading and unloading which didn't seem safe loaded with first-time riders and horses. Scenery was pretty on one side, a bit industrial on the other. Staff was mostly very good, but one wrangler wasn't very good with guests or animals. Some guests had phones out the entire ride, and stirrup/cinch was not addressed during the ride.
