Overview

Enjoy a 1 hr hour walking guided horseback ride with panoramic views of the Verde Valley. We are only 30 minutes from Sedona. This ride is tailored for nervous first timers, beginners, families and children. The ride takes you around the Texas Longhorn pen where you will get to see Brutus, the gentle giant as well as buffalo.. Enjoy views of the Verde Valley, Mingus Mountains and see as far as the San Fransico Peaks in Flagstaff. The old west feel of this location, the western facades, horses, chickens, goats and cows will make you want to trade your shiny shoes for an old pair of boots and your fancy car for a horse! Guest are also welcome to feed the barbado sheep, give the horses treats or take a selfie with the minis.

This was a great adventure. My husband and I were first time riders and this was perfect. Gary and Cole were great, they explained everything to us on how to ride and also provided information about the area as we rode through the trails. The ranch has all sorts of animals to see including buffaloes. We had a great time and look forward to doing this again on our next trip to Arizona. If you have the chance to do this I would highly recommend it.

When we arrived we had some concerns about the conditions of some of the animals. We almost decided to leave however we decided it wouldn't be fair to them so we addressed the situation with someone at the location. We were given a fairly Plausible explanation. However we were also told that if we are going to complain we'd better have the money and land to do something about it. The ride is no frills you walk around a small desert area and the host doesn't talk. So basically you are paying quite a bit of money to walk a big circle and see nothing. I still have serious reservations about the health and welfare of the animals so I so I would do some research before you go..

Hello and thank you for leaving review. Even though it is not a 5 star we are always looking for ways to improve and want all our guests to have a 5 star experience. ..Most of our animals here at the ranch are rescues but none of our rescues are put up front until they are out of the zone 1 which would be consider serious. All of our horses are scored between a 6/7 which is amazing health and were we like to see, keep, and also rehabilitate our rescues too. Some of the rescued animals are still in process of getting up to par but we don't have any on the property currently that are not in good health. Many don't see the 24/7 care that goes on for the animals behind the scene and the team that is dedicated just for that when they come for their horse back ride. I am upset and do apologize about how an employee responded to your questions about the animals and this review was discussed in our morning team meeting. . . Friendly staff, and lovely horses!! The whole family had a wonderful time! They were very accommodating as well!
