Bruce is a very knowledgeable tour guide. He showed us beautiful and historically interesting sections of Central Park above 100th Street. As another person on our tour said "He made the park come alive", with his stories supported by photographs. This tour would appeal to people unfamiliar with Central Park as well as to New Yorkers like me familiar with the park - but not all of it and of its unique history. I highly recommend.

This completely exceeded my expectations, basically due to Bruce, his knowledge, passion for the subject, and ability to bring history alive. This is not a canned tour, lead by someone who has memorized a script. This is someone who knows and loves the part, the city, and history. The tour itself- the park- is now something I will view differently. Without giving it away, it is the perfect synthesis of nature, history, art and science/engineering, and leaves one with new lenses with which to view it all.

Thank you for taking the Secret Places of Central Park tour and for your feedback. It's great to read when someone like yourself, who knows Central Park and New York City very well, comes to appreciate them even more after taking the tour. I hope to see you on another tour soon. Thanks again, Bruce

I live near NYC and have done a handful of Central Park tours, but this one is the BEST I've experienced. Despite the overcast, chilly day, our tour guide (and company owner) Bruce entertained and educated us on the history and stories of the upper portion of Central Park. Bruce's knowledge is deep and his wonderful storytelling style kept our small group engaged. We peppered him with questions and enjoyed his commentary (and his amazing photographs) on the building/shaping of Central Park, its role in the Revolutionary War, little known facts about the park and its various occupants (sqatters, armies) and he divulged many "secrets" about the park that I didn't know (and I know a lot already!). Check out the gardens at the top of the park (105th St near Harlem Meer)--I never knew they existed and when spring comes they will be in full bloom. (I can't wait to return). There are lots of tours of Central Park--some are free--but this one really brought Central Park 'alive' for me. It's also a longer tour (2.5 hrs) so you can delve deeper into the history and the wonders of the upper park. Can't wait to do his DUMBO (Brooklyn) tour.
