Oceanside Adventures took us whale watching during our January 2017 trip to California. The day was perfect and the water slightly choppy. The boat we were on provided shelter from storms but also provided plenty of viewing area. Our whale watching trip was two hours and we had nothing but fun. Shortly after exiting the harbor and entering the wide, blue, ocean we spotted the signature profile of a California Gray whale. Wow!!! We first saw the footprint of the whale. This is patch of water that is swirling and caused by this large mammal diving deep. Then before our eyes we saw the cloud mist plume from the air spout. This was followed soon by the tail or fluke as the tail came out of the water. Absolutely magnificent! The crew of the boat was very knowledgeable about whales and other types of ocean animals. They were also very careful to follow all rules and to not distress the whale by harassment. We have the animal it's space but the crew was skilled at maneuvering the boat to give us different views and perspectives. We also saw sea lions and dolphins. Great job Oceanside adventures! Thank you! Your education allowed us to identify three whales on our own while standing on the top floor of a hotel. Most people had no idea but we did because you taught us well. Again, we had a great adventure and enjoyed every minute.

What an amazing two hours. Saw numerous whale and the staff was amazing. Very knowledgeable and friendly crew. A must do when in Oceanside

Perfect conditions on a perfect day but not one sighting of any other mammals other than the the passengers and crew. Got a suntan, great views and a fun-filled two hour journey plus free tickets for a return trip hoping for wildlife sightings next visit to Oceanside. Great trip.
