The museum is a managably-sized pleasure for any reader. The special exhibit on Bob Dylan (recently extended beyond it's April 30, 2019 closing) is fascinating. It's great fun to read the many quotes from many writers and see how they relate timewise to each other. We also enjoyed watching children on field trips explore the museum and have a wonderful time using typewriters ("Where can we get one of these, Miss?") Highly recommended

Hi Julia! We love seeing our visitors discover the joy of typewriters for the first time (tell them to check out secondhand stores, or their grandparents' attics!), and we're really happy that you felt the same way. If you liked the Dylan exhibit, we have lots of new things coming up this year that you can find out more about on AmericanWritersMuseum.org. Thanks for the review!

This museum is a wonderful addition to my yearly trip to Chicago. I only had an hour to spare but even so it was well worth the entrance fee. My only comment would be it would be lovely if there was a contact list to be able to offer suggestions. I am a Canadian writer that would have liked to purchase a book of quotations from all of your writers that you have highlighted. The bookmark idea but more examples of the writing. Maybe a page for each writer and NOT the commentaries about the writers. It would be a great fundraiser for the museum and a lovely educational tool.

Thank you so much for the review! The idea of a quote book is awesome, and definitely something to think about. Thanks for the suggestion, and we hope to see you again next time you're in Chicago!
