Skip the Line: General Admission Webb Military Museum Ticket

Overview
This museum is all about military history on a personal level and is a collection of military artifacts that I started collecting over 40 years ago. We own many items but the select items we feature in this museum are ones with a story to tell. When our visitors leave the museum, it is our hope that they will have a new found attachment to the individuals who wore the uniforms, hats and medals.

Gary was a phenomenal host and an enthusiastic speaker - his love of military history is both admirable and inspiring. We had a larger group with us and he was equally attentive to adults and children. I have been to several military museums and his collections were very detailed and well presented! He instilled a lot of personal touches with his own family history and details of acquiring several objects. He allows you to take pictures and even has some memorabilia for you to try on. We will definitely go again <3

Venturing out for solo pleasure while my husband fields a work day, I decided to seek out the military museum per Savannah Trolley Driver, Gordon's recommendation. History is fascinating to me so this little gem was a fun find! The owner has amassed quite a collection of interesting items and it's remarkable he's so willing to share so personally those articles and objects for which he holds such affinity and affection. Enjoying human interest stories, his displays humanize the perils of war. Letters, artifacts, photos, stories and the like draw you in to investigate an Airman's Letter To His Mother, a Dog Tag Maker, Striped Uniforms from Auschwitz, Telegrams delivering tragic news home, old newspaper headlines, typed secret D-Day operations and a German Pilots Flight Cap with photo of wife & baby inside. I marveled as I digested the various stories and attempted to puzzle piece real lives together from the remnants before me. Remarkable! $10 well spent to capture glimpses into history which one man has collected (and in some cases saved!) to share with us... in most cases as the benefactors of their sacrifices. Well put together!!

Recommended by a local, this museum is a hidden jewel with so much history you will have to make more than one trip. The best part is Gary Webb himself who will tell you the stories behind every item. I had fun doing the scavenger hunt and can't wait to come back. Living museum that makes you feel like you're walking back in time through the personal lives of people. Ask about the story behind the mig21! You won't be disappointed! Not one but two thumbs way up!!
