Alaska Sled Dogs & Musher's Camp
Your journey begins with an entertaining historic tour from your knowledgeable guide through downtown Skagway and along nine miles of stunning coastline to our Musher’s Camp™ in Dyea. Next, hop into our specialized unimog for an exciting ride up our rugged mountain road, surrounded by glacially fed streams and waterfalls. At the top, your musher will greet you with a custom-designed wheeled summertime sled and a team of very excited Alaskan Huskies! Feel the power of these strong dogs as they whisk you down a mile-long, zig-zagging trail deep in the Tongass National Rainforest! After meeting your dog team, climb back into your unimog and enjoy the adventurous ride to a breathtaking overlook of the Dyea tidal flats. Depending on the month you just might see eagles, bears, seals, horseback riders, wild flowers, and of course snow-capped mountains. Your unimog will then bring you to what we like to call a “Kennel Talk.” We have been sharing our passion for dog sledding for years, and in that time we have gathered up the most frequently ask questions about the sport. In the Kennel Talk, we will share the fascinating answers and welcome any additional questions you may have. Of course, we make sure you have plenty of time to play with our puppies! Your affections actually socialize these future athletes, which is essential to their racing success. A crackling fire and a unique gift shop round out your visit. All of this in a spectacular Alaskan setting!

Our family really enjoyed the drive to the camp, the surrounds were beautiful and then the ATV van up the hill to meet the dogs. My heart melt seeing the dogs and how strong they were to pull the sled. Couldn’t ask to end the excursion any better than holding Puppies!!!! Great experience!!

Eight of us were picked up at the cruise ship dock. It was easy to locate our contacts on the dock and our driver. Our driver shared lots of interesting information about the area on our drive to the camp. Our guides at the camp were informative and fun, also very organized. Loved the Unimog trip up the mountain, our ride with the dogs, and time with dogs at puppies. Information shared about the Iditarod was a good mix of general info and insider details. The day was well balanced- fun, photo ops, information, and time to shop. We would highly recommend it for people of any age!

Second visit had a great guide, Kevin, and wonderful experience. The ride up the mountain in the EMOG was worth the trip. Dogs were amazing. Energetic and VERY well cared for. Musher allowed our 12 year old grandson to ride on back of with him and call commands to the dogs. Made his day. Wonderful experience. Don’t miss the puppy experience handling the dogs
